sewing can be tricky

I have 2 sewing machines and had to change the needles on both of them yesterday. The regular machine jammed and the bobbin thread bent the needle. On the other machine, I went to dust it and saw the needle was broken off. I don't know if my boyfriend broke it serging canvas or what happened exactly. So I vaccummed it out, rethreaded the thing and put in a new needle. By then I had no sewing time left. At least I got both waistbands started and the interfacing put in. I serged the raw edges on the silky pink fabric because it was raveling like a wildfire on a hill.
The next step is gathering all the tiers.
